Let Me Tell You What It’s Like To Be FB Hacked
For every untoward event, there is a silver lining.
Hi There,
I hope this message finds you well. Blossom, our sweet little writerly cat, and I thought we should let you know about some recent developments!
Let me tell you a story of what it’s like to be hacked
Let me tell you; it’s not any fun to be virtually slapped.
“My goodness,” you say, “Is that why we can’t find you? For sure, we’ve looked…
Everywhere you used to be Facebooked.
For we miss your cheery and encouraging Posts
What happened? You seem to be nothing but empty pieces of black Toasts!”
Ah, yes, you may want to know the reason
As we approach the holiday season.
Let me say this, so it hopefully won’t be the Fate
Of your own Facebook Pate.
There I was, innocently visiting my grandchildren.
Who live at a distance, laughing, playing; well, just chill-en.
When suddenly, a Robot, an AI, something called an Algorithm
Decided I should be canceled …hmmmmm?
Nowhere near my computer, my husband came to the rescue,
To no avail, there was no actual person to talk to; he couldn’t get through.
So for well over a month, I’ve checked every day,
Only to find empty words on a black screen …what the hay?
Dear Followers, Friends, Family…
I don’t want to sound like a homily,
I realize you must be searching only to find weeds
Wondering where, oh where, “Is she hiding in the reeds?”
So instead of shedding any more tears,
I’m waiting no longer; I’ve decided to shift gears.
I’m picking myself up after being canceled …so unkindly hacked
I’m diving in now. I’m totally Substacked!
If you are also one of my 52,000 followers over the last decade on my Gluten-Free Page https://www.facebook.com/ajourneywithtrina ...It is still up and running, but I cannot post, and I don’t have email addresses to connect with most of you. If you are, thank you for your support over the years, I hope to continue to give recipes and valuable content now in my new newsletter at https://trinaastorstewart.substack.com/
Here is a delicious Recipe for you.
An Olde Fashioned Sweet Potato Pumpkin Pie
My Nana Jane’s special recipe is guaranteed to please.
1 large (29 oz) tin of pumpkin puree (pure with nothing else added)
1 medium sweet potato baked (remove the skin and puree finely to avoid any lumps)
1/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons maple syrup
4 extra large beaten eggs
2 teaspoons cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier Liqueur (optional)
3 tablespoons heavy cream
Blend together well and pour into a buttered gluten-free pie shell to make a pie. This can also be a crustless pie. Bake at 350℉ for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and chill. Serve with a dollop of freshly whipped cream.
Please watch for my upcoming send-outs!
Features will include Christmas Items, including a Short Story I’ve been working on called “Maggie’s Christmas Miracle.” I hope you will enjoy this hopeful story.
Blessings to you and yours,
Trina
Enjoy your family and friends!
Think up some fun things to put on your Christmas List!
